The Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering (WUT) where the PW-Sat2 project is being conducted started a cooperation with The Center for Advanced Materials and Technology CEZAMAT. The agreement signing allowed us to start process of satellite components integration and tests in one of the cleanrooms of Cezamat PW. Over the next few months we will carry out the individual tests of satellite modules and the final integration of the PW-Sat2 flight model.

We received the support from PGNiG S.A. and Ignacy Łukasiewicz Foundation

We are glad to welcome new companies among our partners – Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) and Ignacy Łukasiewicz Polish Oil and Gas Foundation. The organizations have supported our project with 30,000 PLN that will enable us to conduct PW-Sat2’s test campaign which will precede the satellite’s launch.

The members of the PW-Sat2 team joined the group of “Kumple Ignacego” (Ignacy’s buddies) – the people promoting and developing science in spirit of team work and determination. More on this topic can be found on the Foundation website.

We are very grateful for their contribution to our project.

PW-Sat2 on Technology Forum on Student Micro/nanosatellites in China

DSC_1171

On January 14-15, 2017 we had a pleasure to visit Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) at Technology Forum on Student Micro/nanosatellites. PW-Sat2 was represented in China by the project coordinator Inna Uwarowa, who gave a presentation about current status of our satellite, our works and developed mission. We are very glad and grateful for the invitation and warm reception. We would like to express our special thanks to the Harbin Institute of Technology for taking care of the travel and accommodation of our representative.

In 2015 students at HIT finished their satellite called LilacSat-2 that was launched into orbit on Chang Zheng 6 (CZ-6) rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

New animation of PW-Sat2 mission

We’d like to present out new animation of PW-Sat2 deorbit sail deployment. It was developed by Marcin Świetlik, author of PW-Sat2 3D renders, and finally edited by Piotr Kuligowski – EPS team leader and our great electronic engineer.

The PW-Sat2 launch into orbit is scheduled for the end of 2017. We hope that despite delays of Falcon 9 launches we will be able to send our satellite to space within this limit.
